One of the significant advantages of membership in the LeRoy Heritage Museum, Inc. is the Barclay Mountain Walking Tour which is conducted in the spring. This tour enables participants to learn about local history right where it happened! Our Barclay Mountain Walking Tour has been held for five years, with each tour featuring a different area of the mountain. Laquin, Barclay, and Carbon Run are just some of the tours we have done and participants always go away pleased with the quality of the tour. This event is perhaps the "best kept secret in Bradford County" and is completely different from the Game Lands Driving Tour held by the Pennsylvania State Game Commission each fall.

Walking tours are "members only" events which allow LHM patrons to connect and share a common interest in our heritage. Because LHM is an all volunteer organization, we do not have the staff available to conduct private tours, so you will need to become a member in order to participate in this event.

The LeRoy Heritage Museum, Inc. and/or it's board of directors, representatives, or activity leaders will not be liable for any injury, loss, or damage to property, direct or consequential, arising out of any walking tour conducted by the museum.

The assumption of risk, which is inherent in this type of outdoor activity, is implied on the part of each person who attends any Barclay Mountain Walking Tour. Every person participating in a walking tour assumes all risk and liability in connection therewith, and must sign an Activity Release Form prior to the event. Any person under the age of 18 who desires to attend a walking tour must have a parent or legal guardian sign an Activity Release Form prior to the event.

How to Participate in the Spring Walking Tour

In order to participate in a Walking Tour you will first need to become a member of LeRoy Heritage Museum, Inc. You can do so by downloading a Membership Form below. Simply fill it out and mail it in with your membership dues. Every family participating in a Walking Tour must fill out an Activity Release Form, which can also be downloaded by clicking on the appropriate link below. You may mail this form along with your membership form and dues to LeRoy Heritage Museum, Inc., 8051 Southside Road, Canton, PA 17724. Once we process your information you will receive detailed information about the day, including location and time to meet, as well as other additional instructions.
